The 16th edition of the annual Bell Game between Freedom and Liberty is on the horizon, and the stakes have never been this high.
For Freedom, it is win or go home. For Liberty it is about playoff seeding and erasing a 7-year drought against the falcons. Complicating matters for Freedom is the loss of 5-star recruit Joe Mix for the game. Mixon was ejected from last Friday's game following an altercation with an Antioch player. Per CIF rules, any player ejected from a game must serve a mandatory 1-game suspension.
A win for Liberty could improve their seeding for the post season. According to prep2prep.com, the Lions are projected to be the 10 seed in a 16-team field. Finishing with a 3-2 league record could propel Liberty to an 8 seed and possible home playoff game. However even an 8-seed is unlikely to host a home game, since adopting the 16-team bracket in 2008, the NCS has only had 16 eligible teams once.
